A cold night is on tap tonight with temperatures falling to near and below freezing outside of Chicago. Frost and sub-freezing temperatures may kill sensitive plants and other tender vegetation. Remember to cover plants you’d like to protect, or bring them indoors.
Over the next four days, the cool and dry weather to start will quickly give way to a more active pattern, along with windy and unseasonably warm conditions over the weekend. Waves of showers and thunderstorms can be expected Friday afternoon through the evening. Most of Saturday could end up primarily dry, followed by additional potential rounds of showers and thunderstorms Saturday night through Sunday night. A threat for strong to severe thunderstorms may materialize later Sunday afternoon into Sunday night.
