Our next shot at strong to severe storms will be midweek this week as a storm system brings a cold front into the region. There are still uncertainties regarding exact threats and locations, but main hazards at this time look to be large hail, damaging winds, and heavy rain. Continue to check back in the coming days for more details, and make sure your plan is in place in the case of severe weather!
Unseasonably hot and humid conditions are expected this next Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures in the upper 80s to mid 90s combined with dewpoints in the mid 60s to mid 70s will push peak heat index values into the mid 90s to around 105 on those days. Make sure to practice heat safety by drinking plenty of water, taking breaks indoors, and wearing light clothing.
Sunny, hot, and humid weather will continue on Monday with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s and peak heat index values generally in the low to mid 90s. Parts of western Central Texas (including the Big Country) will see highs closer to the mid 90s with heat index values nearing 100 degrees by the afternoon. South winds around 10 to 15 mph may help provide subtle relief.
