...LOCALLY DENSE FOG ACROSS THE REGION THIS MORNING...

Area webcams as well as automated observing stations indicate that
visibilities have dropped down to under a mile in many locations
with a few spots reporting under a quarter of a mile. The worst of
the conditions should be over the next hour or two...with
visibilities slowly improving in the 9 to 10 o`clock hour.

Drivers should use extra caution when encountering this fog. Use
low-beam headlights.

Showers and thunderstorms are then back in the forecast for
Monday night into Tuesday. Some of these storms may be strong to

A strong low pressure system will approach the region toward the
middle of next week. While details regarding the overall timing and

central Illinois, and southeast Illinois.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Areas of fog will occur this morning, reducing visibility in a few
areas to less than a mile. By early afternoon, any lingering fog
should be near the Indiana border. Fog is also likely again
overnight, and may be locally dense.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

An intense storm system across the central United States will impact
central and southeast Illinois Tuesday night and early Wednesday. At
the present time, the main concern will be the risk of heavy rain,
as well as wind gusts around 40 mph.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for a Large Part of Arkansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Areas of dense fog will be noted across much the region early
this morning. Visibilities will drop below a mile in many places
so be sure to use caution on roadways and build in extra travel
time for the morning commute.

Showers and a few thunderstorms will continue to affect mainly
southern Arkansas this morning. Locally heavy rainfall can be
expected. The activity will diminish heading into the afternoon
hours as a cold front continues moving southward through the
state.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

Unsettled weather is expected to continue through most of the
period. Storm systems are forecast to affect much of Arkansas
Thursday and again on Saturday, but organized severe weather is not
expected. Some locally heavy rainfall will be possible.

A stronger storm system is forecast to impact the Mid-South early
next week. There will be some potential for thunderstorms, including
severe weather across parts of the state Monday and Tuesday.
Additional heavy rainfall will be possible early next week as well.
