Moderating Temperatures for the Eastern Two-Thirds of the Country; Approaching Storm for the West

Unseasonably warm temperatures for the Plains and Midwest will spread eastward through Sunday as a weak clipper system will bring some rain and snow showers from the Great Lakes to the Northeast. A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for 4 pm today - 10 pm Sunday for the Western Plumas Mountains and Sierra Nevada. Avoid travel, especially tonight through Sunday afternoon. If you must travel, be prepared for hazardous winter driving conditions with low visibility due to gusty winds & blowing snow, chain controls, significant travel delays, & road closures.
