A long duration snow event unfolded across parts of Southeast Michigan over New Year's. This event lasted two days (48hours) and southern parts of the county warning area (CWA) saw close to a foot of snow during that long, drawn out period. Snow began New Year's Eve night and continued through January 2, 2014.
