Heavy to Excessive Rain for Southeast and Mid-Atlantic into this Weekend; High Winds in the Pacific Northwest Friday

Another southern storm system will bring heavy to excessive rainfall with a risk for severe thunderstorms from the central Gulf Coast to the Southeast Friday. This heavy rainfall will then spread across the Mid-Atlantic region late Friday into the Weekend. The National Weather Service Office in St. Louis has the responsibility of maintaining a 24 hour weather watch over an area that stretches from central Missouri to near the Iowa border, east into west central Illinois, and into portions of southeast Missouri.  The area includes 29 counties in Missouri and 17 in Illinois.
